Short of breath on exercise
Hi doctor, my father hasn’t been feeling well for the past few days. He’s been tired, feverish, and coughing up green phlegm. He has brushed it off because he usually has a smoker’s cough, but now he’s also short of breath when exercising. What should I do?

Answer:
Likely your father has a respiratory infection, possibly bronchitis or pneumonia. It's important for him to see a doctor as soon as possible for a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. In the meantime, he should rest, stay hydrated, and avoid smoking or exposure to smoke. Encourage him to cough up the phlegm to help clear his airways. Over-the-counter medications like anti pyretics and cough syrup may also provide some relief, but consulting with a healthcare professional is crucial in this situation.
