Answer:
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns about your brother’s health. We understand that being diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC) can be an overwhelming experience for both the patient and their family, and we sincerely empathize with what you are going through.

In regards to your inquiry, we recommend that you continue to follow the prescribed treatment plan from your current healthcare provider, including the pain medication, while keeping an eye on the symptoms. NPC can present with various symptoms, such as frequent nosebleeds, headaches, and blurred vision, which may be related to the progression of the disease. It is crucial to monitor these symptoms closely and report them to your healthcare provider for further evaluation.

In the meantime, there are several steps you can take to help ease your brother’s discomfort:

Stay Hydrated: Encourage your brother to drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration, which can sometimes exacerbate headaches and other symptoms.

Rest and Relaxation: Ensure that he gets adequate rest. Reducing stress and creating a quiet, comfortable environment can help alleviate some symptoms.

Cool Compress: For headaches and blurred vision, applying a cool compress to his forehead may provide some temporary relief.

Avoiding Triggers for Nosebleeds: If your brother is experiencing frequent nosebleeds, try to maintain a humidity-friendly environment and avoid any actions that could further irritate the nasal passages, such as vigorous nose blowing.

In terms of treatment options, while the stage of the cancer is still unknown, it is essential to continue working closely with your current healthcare providers, as they can offer the most tailored care based on his diagnosis and clinical stage. If you are considering seeking treatment in a private hospital for a second opinion or more specialized care, we are more than happy to assist in coordinating a consultation with one of our specialists.
